DRCTS Co., Ltd. | Safety Guard App

DRCTS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "the Company") establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws to protect users' personal information and to handle related complaints promptly.

Article 1 (Personal Data Collected and Collection Methods)

The Company collects the following personal information to provide the Safety Guard app service.

Article 2 (Purpose of Collection and Use)

The Company uses the collected personal information for the following purposes:

• Member authentication and service usage management
• Provision of safety management services for construction sites
• Face-recognition based access control and attendance management
• Monitoring of Safety Ring (BLE device) status and alert notifications
• TBM (Tool Box Meeting) record management
• Service improvement and error response

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period)

The Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of collection and use has been achieved. However, if retention is required by relevant laws, the information is retained for the corresponding period.

• Access logs: 3 years (Occupational Safety and Health Act)
• Login logs: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
• Face feature vector (embedding): Immediately destroyed upon worker resignation or deletion request

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company does not provide users' personal information to third parties in principle. Exceptions are made in the following cases:

• When the user has given prior consent
• When required by law or by lawful procedures requested for investigative purposes

Article 5 (Procedures and Methods for Destruction)

The Company destroys personal information as follows when the retention period has expired or the purpose of processing has been achieved:

• Electronic files: Permanently deleted using methods that prevent recovery
• Face feature vectors: Simultaneously deleted from server and device
• Paper documents: Shredded

Article 6 (Measures to Ensure Security of Personal Information)

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the security of personal information:

• Authentication tokens and credentials: Encrypted storage (Secure Storage)
• Face feature vectors: Stored in SQLCipher (AES-256) encrypted database
• Server communication: HTTPS (TLS) encrypted transmission
• API authentication: JWT token-based access control
• Screen capture prevention applied

Article 7 (User Rights and How to Exercise Them)

Users may exercise the following rights at any time:

• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal information
• Request deletion of face feature vectors
• Request suspension of personal information processing

Article 8 (App Permissions)

The Safety Guard app uses the following permissions to provide its services:

Optional permissions can be denied without preventing the basic features of the app from functioning.

Article 9 (Collection and Use of Location Information)

In accordance with Article 19 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the location information processing of the Safety Guard app is described as follows:

• Items Collected: Location information based on the device's GPS signals and wireless networks (Wi-Fi, cell towers)
• Purpose of Collection: Bluetooth (BLE) Safety Ring device scanning
  • Android 6.0 (API 23) and higher operating systems require location permission to perform BLE scans.
  • This is not for the Safety Guard app to know the user's location, but is a system-level prerequisite imposed by Android OS to allow BLE scan calls.
• Background Location Collection: Background location permission is used to receive Safety Ring SOS/alert signals even when the app is closed or the screen is off.
• Storage and Transmission of Location Data:
  • Safety Guard does NOT store the user's location coordinates (latitude/longitude) on the device.
  • Safety Guard does NOT transmit the user's location coordinates to any server or third party.
  • No location-based data such as movement paths, visited places, or location history is collected or recorded.
• Impact of Denying Location Permission: If location permission is denied, the app cannot receive Safety Ring (BLE) signals, so SOS/alert notification features will not function. However, other features such as access control (face recognition) and TBM are still available.
• Retention Period: Since location information is not stored, there is no retention period.

Article 11 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

This Privacy Policy is effective from the effective date. If there are any additions, deletions, or modifications due to changes in laws or policies, the changes will be announced through notices at least 7 days before the effective date of the changes.
